Bentleigh Greens Soccer Club is based in Cheltenham, a suburb of Melbourne. The club was formed in 1986, when a small group of former members of Cypriot Community's Soccer Club, Central City, determined to create a strong Greek Cypriot based team in Melbourne.
The club competed in the First Division of the Provisional League in the 1987 season. That year the club finished runners up to Chelsea on goal difference. The club has achieved 5 promotions in 9 seasons, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1993, and 1995, plus a Vic-Health Youth championship in 1993–94. Plus 6 Hellenic Cup wins 1991, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2003, and 2010.
Bentleigh Greens were promoted to the Victorian Premier League and competed at that level for the first time in 1996. They spent the years 1996–2005 in the Victorian Premier League, becoming finalists 4 times. Bentleigh Greens were promoted back to the Victorian Premier League after finishing 2nd in the 2009 Victoria State League Division 1. They currently compete in the National Premier Leagues Victoria.
Qualification Route
Bentleigh Greens qualified for the 2014 FFA Cup by reaching the Semi Final of Victoria's Dockerty Cup. They defeated Richmond in the playoff game (Quarter Final) 3-1.
In reaching the FFA Cup Round of 32, Bentleigh defeated St Kilda 3-0, Moreland Zebras 3-1, FC Bulleen Lions 1-0 and Richmond 3-1.
